Ananthapur, August 22 : CPI (M) State Secretary B V Raghavulu on Thursday asked TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu to clarify his stand on Telangana issue before taking up “Telugjathi Atmagaurav Yatra” in the Seemandhra region.
Talking to reporters here, Raghavulu said that Naidu should clarify whether his party favours formation of Telangana State or was in support of Samaikhyandhra. He said Naidu should not begin the yatra unless he makes his stand clear.
Raghavulu described the Congress Working Committee’s decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh as politically motivated. He said that the Congress party’s sole aim is to make Rahul Gandhi the next Prime Minister of India and therefore, it decided to divide the State with an eye on winning maximum seats in Telangana region. Accusing the Congress party of treating the Telangana issue as an internal party matter, he said that several key issues like sharing of water, energy and other resources were not taken into consideration.
Raghavulu also condemned the attack on Rajya Sabha MP V Hanumantha Rao at Alipiri and said that violence of any kind on either side was highly condemnable. INN
