T-ministers want no change in Hyderabad’s status

Hyderabad, August 18 : The ministers from Telangana region on Sunday passed a resolution demanding that the Centre form Telangana State with 10 districts with Hyderabad as its capital.

Talking to reporters after the meeting of Telangana ministers at Ministers’ Quarters here, minister C Uttam Kumar said that the people of Telangana would accept no change in the status of Hyderabad although it could remain the join capital of two States for a limited period. Further, he said that Bhadrachalam should remain a part of Telangana State.

Uttam Kumar said that the Telangana ministers would make a representation to the high-powered Antony Committee on Monday on their concerns with regard to the bifurcation of State. He said that the ministers would also convey their thanks to Congress president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minsiter Dr Manmohan Singh for taking a decision in favour of Telangana.

The minister said that the Seemandhra leaders should extend cooperation in peaceful division of the State. He said that the transition of power and creation of two States should conclude in an amicable manner. He also condemned the attacks on Telangana employees in Seemandhra region.

Those who took part in the meeting include Deputy Chief Minister Damodar Rajanarasimha, K Jana Reddy and others. INN
