Hyderabad, February 17 : Ridiculing the remarks of TDP leaders against Sharmila, YSR Congress has said the main opposition is in a jittery with her growing popularity and is resorting to false propaganda using derogatory remarks against YSR and his family members even as Chandrababu Naidu is hopping from town to town giving impractical and tall promises.
“TDP leaders using slanderous language against Sharmila indicate that they are scarred of her padayatra and are unable to digest the fact that YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is the future Chief Minister. Braving all odds, a woman taking up such a fete should be appreciated and the criticism shows that TDP has no respect for women,” Party official spokesperson Roja told reporters here on Sunday.
Chandrababu Naidu on the other hand, has been propagating falsehood against YSR family members calling names while his past is littered with manipulations and ill-gotten wealth as he started off as owner of two-acre land in the arid Chittoor district and has amassed wealth while TDP was in power, she said.
People have lost faith in TDP and MLAs have been deserting the party as they see future in YSR Congress Party and Chandrababu Naidu commenting about package deal is trash. It was he who is known for package deals while usurping power from NTR with Viceroy Hotel as headquarter, she said.
In course of his padayatra he has been making false promises, most of them have been implemented by YSR, be it loan waiver, free power, fees reimbursement or Aarogyasree. He has no guts to say that he will bring back his nine-year tenure as it has ghastly memories in the minds of people.
His promise of loan waiver from state budget is impractical and he has been deceiving people by such false promises.
“Chandrababu Naidu has been promising to bring back YSR schemes which were diluted by the Kiran Kumar Reddy government. His support to the State government is very transparent and open in the by-elections and on many other occasions,” she said.
The TDP leader has been supporting Congress to evade action in many of the cases pending against him, while Congress needs his support to survive as it is a divided house and is losing its allies one after the other.
It the Congress-TDP jig continues, one need not wonder if the two parties merge as they see a common adversary in YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, she said. TDP has lost deposits in more that 25 of the 45 by-elections and with people continuously rejecting Chandababu Naidu, TDP will soon be history. INN
