Hyderabad, August 25 : The Andhra Pradesh Non-Gazetted Officers Association has decided to conduct a massive public meeting at LB Stadium in the State capital on September 7.
The decision was taken during a meeting held at the APNGOs Bhavan here on Sunday. The meeting was also attended by several leaders representing people from Seemandhra region living in Hyderabad. The leaders have appealed to the people to participate in large numbers to express their opposition to the proposed division of Andhra Pradesh. The leaders claimed that nearly 40 lakh people from coastal Andhra and Rayalaseema living in the city will participate in the proposed public meeting.
They also appealed to the leaders cutting across party lines to join the Samaikhyandhra agitation to pressurise the Centre to withdraw its decision to bifurcate the State.
Meanwhile, Osmania University Joint Action Committee warned the government of dire consequences if APNGOs was given permission to conduct meeting in Hyderabad. They said that the OUJAC will seek permission to conduct meeting at Nizam College Grounds if APNGOs is allowed to hold meeting at LB Stadium. INN
