Hyderabad, Aug 7 : Slamming the Congress for its divided and rule policy and trying to split the Rayalaseema region for political gains, YSR Congress has said the top leadership of the state is silent and playing to the Delhi script to perfection putting the regional sentiments at stake.
“Chief Minister N Kiran Kumr Reddy and TDP President N Chandrababu Naidu have been silent on the issue of division of Rayalaseema for political gains and leaders of the region are on Delhi trips to enact the script written by high command,” party MLA G. Sreekanth Reddy told reporters here on Wednesday.
Leaders of Rayalaseema are playing to the tune of Delhi dictates which is aimed at seeing that no leader will grow in stature in the state and will remain submissive to the high command.
After YSR there was no leader of his stature and Congress fears that no leader would grow to his level. YS Jagan Mohan Reddy was kept aloof from the people fearing that he would step into the shoes of his father, while other leaders are being compromised or subdued.
This is evident from the fact that the chief minister and leader of opposition who also hail from Rayalseema are maintaining stoic silence.
“The division would be a historic blunder and if Rayalseema is divided they will remain as betrayers. Even state ministers Galla Aruna, C Ramachandriah and Ahmadulla are not opening up while leaders from the region are going to Delhi on the pretext of safeguarding the interests of the region but on return they are playing their act as per the dictates of Delhi,” he said.
What Andhra Pradesh has given to Congress is 33 seats and what the Congress is giving to the state is an irrational division. TDP leader was in touch with Delhi leaders and is silent as he has lot of economic interests in the state capital.
With Chief Ministers and Naidu not opening out, it is nothing short of giving their agreement to the dangerous game of dividing the regions against the sentiments of the people and they will have to pay a heavy price in the days to come.
The division of the state should be done in a proper way that would be agreeable to all regions and consider all the issues and demands of all stakeholders. Rayalaseema leaders are called by Delhi only to gain political mileage to divide the state further which is not agreeable to majority of the people.
The AK Antony Committee is only to weaken the movement of the region that has been flared up and the Committee, which has Congress leaders as members, is not reasonable. This is only to temporarily cool down the raised tempers and bid time.
“We will fight the conspiracy of Congress to weaken the movement and will stand for justice to all regions,” he said. INN
