New Delhi/Hyderabad, July 27 : Felt insulted and ignored by the party High Command, the ministers from Rayalaseema and Andhra region are planning for mass resignation over the Telangana issue.
Talking to reporters here, Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao announced that at least 15 ministers would quit the State cabinet if the Centre decides to divide Andhra Pradesh. Although he did not specify when the resignations would be given, but gave a clear indications that it may happen early next week.
According to sources, the Seemandhra ministers and other legislators are likely to meet on Monday in Hyderabad to take a final call on the issue. The resignation by 16 YSRCP and three Congress MLAs has already build pressure on the Congress and TDP leaders. Therefore, the Seemandhra ministers will be trying to de-affiliate the resignations from the political parties.
Further, sources say that the mass resignations would come before the next meeting of the Congress Working Committee which is likely to endorse Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh. INN
