Hyderabad, July 9 : Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy who reviewed each of the prioritised Jalayagnam Projects in detail on Tuesday asked the officials and engineers to complete the projects with clear milestones at the earliest. He held a detailed review of the Major Irrigation projects with ministers and officials at Secretariat.
The Chief Minister said that he will review the Telangana Major Irrigation projects in detail before Saturday. He asked the officials to clear all the pending issues immediately and complete all the prioritised projects with clear milestones. “We are here to complete these projects and provide water to the farmers and see that they are benefitted ultimately”, he said.
Major Irrigation Minister P Sudarshan Reddy, Finance Minister A. Ramnarayan Reddy, Secondary Education Minister Parthasarathy, Chief Secretary P.K.Mohanty, Special Chief Secretary, Irrigation, Ajoyendra Pyal, Principal Secretary, Irrigation, Adityanath Das, Principal Secretary, Irrigation, Arvind Reddy, Principal Secretaries, Finance, V Bhasker and Premchandra Reddy, Engineers-in-Chief and other officials attended the meeting.
Officials assured the Chief Minister that steps will be taken to create 30 lakh new ayacut during 2013-14. The Jalayagnam started in 2004-05. Till date, 16 projects are fully completed and 24 projects partially completed. About 22.45 lakh new ayacut is already created.
The completed projects are: B.R.R.Vamsadhara Project Stage-II – Phase-I, B.R.R. Vamsadhara Project Stage-II – Phase-II, Chagalnadu LIS, Peddagedda Reservoir, K.V.Ramakrishna Surampalem Reservoir, Madduvalasa, Tenneti Viswanadham Pedderu Reservoir, Kovvadakalva Project, Bupathipalem, Musurumilli Project, Sri Magunta Subbarami Reddy Ramatheertham BR, Swarnamukhi Barrage, Veligallu Project, Alisagar LIS, Arugula Rajaram – Guthpa LIS, Gaddena-Suddavagu Project and Ralivagu.
The partially completed projects are: Andhra Region: Jhanjhavathi, Thotapally Project, Pushkaram Lift Irrigation, Tadipudi Lift Irrigation, Venkatanagaram LIS, Gundlakamma Project, Somasila Project, Madduvalasa – Stage-II.
Rayalaseema Region: Nellore & Prakasam: Telugu Ganga Project, Guru Raghavendra Lift Irrigation Scheme; SRBC, Pulivendula Branch Canal (Modernisation), Mylavaram Reservoir (Modernisation).
Telangana Region: AMRP (SLBC), SRSP-II, Mathadivagu Project, JCR-DLIS, Gollavagu, Kinnerasani Canals, Sri Komaram Bheem Project, Choutupalli Hanmanth Reddy LIS, Mahatma Gandhi-Kalwakurthy LIS, Rajiv-Bhima LI Scheme, Jawahar-Nettampadu LI Scheme
The Chief Minister said that he will inaugurate Pulichintala Project on 15th August this year. 17 of the 24 gates are already set up and steps are on to complete the project.
The Chief Minister said that land acquisition issues should be settled by the Collectors and special interest should be taken in this regard. Immediate steps should be taken to vacate court cases and the stay with respect of certain projects. Regarding Jhanjhavathi project– as per the agreement with Odisha – 7 villages likely to be submerged and issue will be taken up with Centre and the Odisha Government.
Kiran Kumar Reddy today reviewed in detail Projects in Andhra and Rayalaseema regions viz. Thotapally Barrage scheme, Jhanjhavati Reservoir Project, Pushkara LI Scheme, Tadipudi LI Scheme, Pulichintala Project, Venkatanagaram Pumping scheme, Madduvalasa Reservoir Phase II, Kovvada Kalva Outfall Regulator, Gundlakamma Reservoir Project, Mylavaram Reservoir Canal System Modernisation, Guru Raghavendra LI Scheme, Yadiki System (PABR Stage II), GNSS Project Phase I, Gandikota Lift, Siddapuram LI Scheme, CBR Right Canal (Lingala Canal), Pulivendula Branch Canal Modernisation, Gandikota-CBR Lift Schemes, HNSS Project Phase I and II, Somasila Project, Telugu Ganga Project, Nellore Barrage and Sangam Barrage. All these projects are to be completed by 2013-14 and the Chief Minister directed the officials that whatever pending issues are there, they should be resolved immediately like forest clearance, court cases, land acquisition, Railway crossings, National Highway crossings, revised alignments etc.
The Chief Minister also reviewed the modernisation of Krishna Delta scheme and said it should be completed by resolving the pending issues. INN
