SBH-OU distributes tri-cycles among physically challenged students

Hyderabad, July 8 : Osmania University Vice-Chancellor Prof. S Satyanarayana and SBH OU AGM Parthasarathi on Monday distributed Rs.1,52,800 worth of 18 tri-cycles, 20 Ipads and 3 hearing machines to the physically disabled students of Osmania University.

Speaking at the function, the OU VC said that he would always be in the forefront to solve the problems of the physically disabled. He said that various welfare steps like setting up of Disability Cell, fee concession and waiver to these students at PG and Ph.D. level and 3 per cent of Ph.D.seats to the physically disabled students have been initiated. He exhorted the students to take part in the developmental activities of the University.

Parthasarathi said that any effort to help the disabled sections would naturally strengthen the society. Prof.Nageshwar Rao and Prof.Mallesham also spoke on the occasion.

National Platform for the Rights of the Disabled (NPRD) students State Convenor Mr.P.Rajashekar thanked the SBH, OU Branch for evincing keen interest in the welfare of the physically disabled students.
