Hyderabad, June 14 : Law and Courts Minister Erasu Pratap Reddy on Friday informed the State Legislative Assembly that there has been a decrease in the number of cases pending in different courts across the State.
In his reply to a query raised by Lok Satta MLA Dr Jaya Prakash Narayan during Question Hour, the minister said the pendency has decreased by 20,794 cases in the last two years. While there were 945,737 cases pending in different courts about two years, the number has come down to 924,943 up to December 31, 2012.
The minister said that the government has sanctioned 84 new courts in various cadres in addition to the existing regular courts apart from making 36 Fast Track Courts a permanent feature to ensure speedy disposal and reduction of cases. INN
