Rs 4.16 lakh spent on Annamacharya Jayanthi celebrations

Hyderabad, June 14 : Endowments Minister C Ramchandraiah on Friday informed the State Legislative Assembly that more than Rs 4 lakh were spent for the grand celebrations of Annamacharya 605th Jayanthi celebrations from May 24 to 26th.

Replying to a question raised by MLA A Amarnath Reddy during Question Hour, Ramchandraiah said that an amount of Rs 416,782 were spent for Saptagiri Sankeethanas, Gostiganam programme, Sri Vari Kalyanam and Unjal Seva prgrammes as part of Annamacharya Jayanthi celebrations.

However, the amount spent this year was less compared to last year. While Rs 526,119 were spent in 2012, the expenditure was Rs 416,782 this year. An amount of Rs 498,483 in 2010 and Rs 330,936 in 2011 were spent for the Annamacharya Jayanthi celebrations. INN
