Philanthropists donate Rs 22 lakh for cancer hospital

Hyderabad, June 6 : Several philanthropists came forward to make donations in order to provide assistance to under privileged cancer patients, who are undergoing treatment in cancer hospital.

These donations worth Rs 22 lakh are meant for creating new facilities and to provide treatment assistance to poor cancer patients in Basavatarakam Indo American Cancer Hospital & Research Institute. Among them are a donation made by Dr PS Raju, resident of Begumpet, Hyderabad towards a corpus fund created to provide treatment assistance to under privileged patients and a donation of Rs. 10 lakh made towards constructing two rooms in hospital premises for the benefit of patients by Chunduru Venkateswarulu resident of Masab tank, Hyderabad in the memory of his parents Smt. Chunduru Tulasamma and Sri Chunduru Basavaiah.

Rs. 5 lac was donated by MROPS India, Madhapur’s management and employees led by M. Ramakrishna, Managing Director, MROPS India towards treatment assistance to be provided to poor cancer patients. All the three people have handed over their contributions to BIACH&RI chairman Nandamuri Balakrishna.

Balakrishna has appreciated the gestures shown by them. Explaining the need to create additional facilities in the hospital to serve increasing number of patients day by day, he urged upon philanthropists to come forward in support of cancer care.
