TDP MPs flay Rly budget

New Delhi, February 26 : The Telugu Desam Party leaders have said that Andhra Pradesh got a raw deal the Railway budget presented by Union Minister Praveen Kumar Bansal.

TDP floor leader Nama Nageshwar Rao said that the State did not get due share in the allocation of funds for the ongoing works. Speaking to reporters he said, while the Centre has promised to lay railway lines in an extent of 1,000 km during the previous year, it has reduced it to 750 km this time.

Narsaraopet MP M Venugopal Reddy asked as to why there was no survey for Railway unlike the general budget. While the works announced during the previous budget were not taken up, it is ridiculous to announce new works, he said.

Chittoor MP Dr N Sivaprasad said that the budget was Amethi-Rai Bereli budget. Our request to run a train on the Tirupati-Shirdi line was turned down, he said and demanded Kotla Suryaprakash Reddy to introduce a supplementary budget. INN
