VHR plans dharna on Feb 21 against LA Bill

Hyderabad, Feb 18 (INN): Congress senior leader and Rajya Sabha member V Hanumantha Rao will organise a massive dharna on February 21 in protest against the proposed Land Acquisition Bill

Speaking to media persons in Assembly premises here, VHR informed that dharna would be organised at Dharna Chowk near Indira Park on February 21 from 10 AM to 6 PM. He said all the leaders of Telangana Congress, including TPCC chief Ponnala Lakshmaiah, have been invited to participate in the dharna agitation. He said AICC president Sonia Gandhi, Vice-President Rahul Gandhi and General Secretaries Digvijay Singh and Ahmed Patel have been briefed about the same.

VHR said that the Congress party would strongly oppose the Bill in the forthcoming session of Parliament beginning from February 23. He alleged that the proposed law was aimed at taking away the lands of farmers to benefit the realtors. He claimed that the Congress Governments never took away the lands of farmers in the past although it implemented best industrial policies across the country.
