GHMC demolishes eight more buildings in Ayyappa Society

Hyderabad, June 25 : The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation on Wednesday demolished eight more buildings in the Ayyappa Society on Gurukul Ghatkesar lands.

The GHMC had constituted four teams with Town Planning, Engineering and other municipal officials. As many as 3 Hitachi and 2 JCBs were engaged while 70 labourers were deployed for demolition. A total of five compressors were also deployed. The corporation also took the help of 100 policemen to ensure security during demolitions.

The GHMC had initially identified 21 buildings with on-going constructions activity. However, since Tuesday, the GHMC demolished a total of 24 buildings.

From Thursday onwards, strict surveillance will be maintained to completely stop any construction activity, the GHMC officials said.  INN
