GHMC team visits Kings Colony as water enters homes

Hyderabad, Nov 9 : GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain along with Charminar MLA Ahmed Pasha Quadri and GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar have inspected the Kings Colony situated at Miralam Lake at Rajendranagar Circle where the entire houses were flooded with water and people were unable to come out of the houses causing much inconvenience and as well as posing severe health hazards.

The incident has occurred due to overflow of water in nearby adjoining minor irrigation tank. Some of the residents and the public representatives along with the Corporators and MLA have approached Hyderabad MP Asaduddin Owaisi at Darussalam and represented their grievances to help them to remove the water on priority basis.

The GHMC Mayor and Commissioner have directed the Engineer-in-Chief, Zonal Commissioner, (South), Deputy Municipal Commissioner, Circle – 6 duly coordinating with the R&B and HMWS&SB officials to clear the water by the evening and report compliance and further directed the officials to personally monitor the situation as it is a very serious and emergency need.

The Commissioner also stated that he would be visiting the site again to inspect the rescue operations and directed the officials to give information to him on hourly basis. He also informed that he would be speaking with the higher officials of the other departments to take up the rescue operations on top priority.

Engineer-in-Chief R Dhan Singh, Engineer-in-Chief, Additional Commissioner (Planning) D Ronald Rose, Zonal Commissioner (South) N Ravi Kiran, Deputy Municipal Commissioner (Circle-6) V Srinivas Goud,, Shivarampally Corporator Habeeb Zain and senior officials from the HMWS&SB and R&B have participated in the visit.
