New Delhi, Nov 8 : State Minister Ganta Srinivas Rao claimed that the process of bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh could be stopped at any stage.
Talking to reporters here, Ganta said that there was no precedent of formation of any State in the country without taking the consent of the concerned State Legislative Assembly. Therefore, he said once the Telangana Bill is sent to the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly, it would be easily defeated as all members from the Seemandhra region would vote against it. However, he alleged that a few people were trying to prevent the Telangana Bill from being sent to the Legislative Assembly.
Ganta also complained that although AICC General Secretary Digvijay Singh assured that AK Antony Committee would visit the Seemandhra region, the visit is yet to take place. Speaking about the fate of Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, he said that the Congress would be making another big mistake if it replaces him. INN
