New Delhi, Nov 1 : The Supreme court on Friday adjourned the hearing to November 18 on the petitions filed against the UPA Government’s decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh to carve out Telangana.
As many as four petitions have been filed in the Supreme Court by YSRCP leader DA Somayajulu, TDP leader Payyavula Keshav and others. In their petitions, they described the Centre’s decision as arbitrary and unconstitutional and sought directions to stall the process of division of Andhra Pradesh.
However, the bench comprising Justice HL Dattu adjourned the hearing to November 18 stating that it would take time to study the objections raised over bifurcation of State by the petitioners. INN
