Housewife set ablaze for more dowry

Hyderabad, Oct 30 : A 33-year-old woman died of burn injuries that she suffered after she was set ablaze allegedly by her husband.

According to Manchal Inspector J Venugopala Swamy, the deceased, K Suguna, was allegedly set on fire by her husband Lakshman, at their residence in Ellamma Tanda of Manchal, on October 27. She was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital where she died on Tuesday night. Suguna was allegedly being harassed by her husband Laxman for additional dowry. On October 27, they had an argument over the same issue and out of rage he had set Suguna ablaze.

A case of murder and dowry harassment has been registered against Lakshman, police said.

Two women succumb to burn injuries

Hyderabad, Oct 30 : A 55-year-old woman died of burn injuries that she suffered while heating water at her residence in Rajendranagar police limits.

The deceased, B Laxmamma, suffered burns on October 26 and was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital for treatment where she died on Wednesday morning, police said.

In another case, 64-year-old Heera Bai, who suffered burn injuries on October 6 while cooking food at her residence in Chavni Nadi Ali Baig of Yakutpura, died at the Osmania General Hospital on Tuesday night, according to Rein Bazar police said.

Two pedestrians killed in road accidents

Hyderabad, Oct 30 : A pedestrian, 25-year-old U Lalitha, who was injured after being hit by a two-wheeler near KBR Park on October 28, died at the Osmania General Hospital on Wednesday.

The deceased, Lalitha was a resident of Yousufguda. The Jubilee Hills police registered a case against the bike rider.

In another case, 27-year-old Nitish Kabra of Nimboli Adda, succumbed to injuries which he suffered on October 27 after being hit by a lorry while crossing the road near Gowliguda Telephone Exchange. He was undergoing treatment at the OGH where he died on Tuesday night, according to Afzalgunj police.

Worker falls from height, dies

Hyderabad, Oct 30 : A 42-year-old man died after falling from height at his workplace in Dundigal police limits.

The deceased, G Purshottam Reddy, accidentally fell down from height while working in his company Fitter Machinery Company at Bachupally on Tuesday evening. He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. Further investigations are on.

Centering worker electrocuted to death

Hyderabad, Oct 30 : A 35-year-old centering worker died on the spot when he came in contact with a live electric wire at his workplace in Moospet in KPHB Police limits.

The deceased, V Madhav Rao of Pragathi Nagar, was electrocuted to death while working at an under-construction building. He was carrying some iron rods to the upper floors and rods accidentally touched a high-tension wire leading to his electrocution.

HIV+ woman commits suicide

Hyderabad, Oct 30 : A 24-year-old committed suicide by hanging to the ceiling fan after she learnt that she was HIV positive.

The deceased, G Priya, was married to one Praveen Kumar of Chintal about three years ago. Recently she got pregnant and during the tests it was allegedly found that she was HIV positive. Mentally depressed with reports, she took the extreme step at her residence on Wednesday morning. Jeedimetla police are investigating the case.
