Hyderabad, August 26 : Former minister and senior Congress leader JC Diwakar Reddy on Monday strongly advocated the formation of Rayala-Telangana, if the division of Andhra Pradesh was inevitable.
Talking to reporters in the Assembly premises here, Diwakar Reddy said that the Centre could constitute Rayala-Telangana by including Anantapur and Kurnool in the new State. He said that the inclusion of two districts would lead to a balanced division of Andhra Pradesh and both the State would witness equal development. He said that Anantapur and Kurnool shares same culture and habits with Mahabubnagar and therefore, they should be made part of Rayala-Telangana State.
Diwakar Reddy claimed that the proposal of Rayala-Telangana would be acceptable to a majority of leaders in the Congress and he would try to convince BJP and TRS for the same. He said that the MIM was already in favour of Rayala-Telangana and therefore, the Centre would not find it difficult to implement the proposal.
