New Delhi, Aug 2 : Six Congress MPs from Rayalaseema and Andhra regions on Friday submitted their resignations in protest against the Central Government’s decision to bifurcate Andhra Pradesh.
The MPs who resigned from their post are Lagadapati Rajagopal, Harsha Kumar, Anantha Venkatarami Reddy, Sai Prathap, Vundalli Aruna Kumar and KVP Ramachandra Rao. They handed over their resignation letters to Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha Secretary General.
Talking to reporters at the Parliament’s Central Hall, Vundavalli said that the resignations were aimed at bringing the on-going agitation in Seemandhra region to the notice of Congress High Command. He said that the resignation has been submitted in the Speaker’s format and there was no question of re-considering them. He said that the MPs have resigned from the Lok Sabha seat and not from the party. INN
