Hyderabad, Aug 2 : Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Friday reviewed the situation following heavy rains in many parts of the State, increase in water levels in various reservoirs and relief works being carried out.
The Chief Minister reviewed the situation with Chief Secretary Dr P K Mohanty and CMO officials at his Camp Office. He directed the officials to help the farmers with alternative seeds wherever needed and also continue the relief operations in the rain-hit areas. He asked the officials to continue the relief camps in these areas as long as required. He also directed the officials to send medical teams and medicines and to prevent any outbreak of diseases in the rain-hit areas, particularly in the low lying areas.
The Chief Minister asked the Chief Secretary to constantly monitor the situation and direct the departments concerned accordingly.
Officials informed the Chief Minister that there were heavy rains in many areas and relief camps are continuing. They said that Adilabad, Karimnagar, Khammam and Warangal districts received heavy rainfall in the past 24 hours.
As on August 1, as many as 25 people were killed due to rain-related incidents. One missing case was reported in Karimnagar district and one teacher, Tribal Welfare Primary School, Dubba Tanda of Utnoor Mandal who had been reported as missing yesterday was reported as dead today. INN
