Celebrations begin in Telangana

Hyderabad, July 30 : Hundreds of pro-Telangana activists stormed the streets of Hyderabad to celebrate the Congress High Command’s announcement of formation of Telangana.

Hundreds of TRS workers, who gathered at the Telangana Bhavan, started celebrations immediately after getting news that the UPA Coordination Committee has passed a unanimous resolution in favour of Telangana. Sweets were distributes and the TRS workers shouted slogans praising their party president K Chandrasekhar Rao. They claimed that Telangana is now a reality due to the continuous struggle of KCR.

Celebrations were also held at the offices of Bharatiya Janata Party, Telangana Political Joint Action Committee and other pro-Telangana groups.

Several pro-Telangana workers came on streets by holding Telangana and pink flags shouting slogans of victory in a long-drawn battle of nearly six decades.

Meanwhile, TRS MLA K Tarakarama Rao welcomed the decision and insisted that the process of formation of Telangana should be completed at the earliest. He said that the Congress party could not be trusted till the passing of Telangana Bill in the Parliament.

TPJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram also welcomed the decision. However, he insisted that the process should be set in motion immediately and completed within a time frame to make Telangana State a reality. INN
