Hyderabad, July 27 : The YSR Congress party appears to be a heading towards a major split over the Andhra Pradesh bifurcation issue.
Former minister Konda Surekha, who had registered her protest after 16 YSRCP MLAs submitted their resignations in favour of united State, on Saturday met party’s Honorary President YS Vijayamma at Lotus Pond. She was accompanied by her husband Konda Murali. Other leaders including Ravinder Naik, G Balakrishna Reddy and KK Mahender Reddy were also present.
Surekha and others wanted the party to clarify its stand on Telangana and whether the MLAs’ resignation were party’s or personal decisions. They also wanted to know whether the party still stands by the decision taken during party’s Plenary Session. However, the Telangana leaders were not satisfied with the reply that they got from Vijayamma.
Talking to reporters later, Konda Surekha and others said that they were not in a position to move in Telangana region due to party’s stand. She said a meeting would be convened with the leaders and workers of Telangana region soon and the future course of action would be decided. INN
