Hyderabad, July 5 : A delegation from Isuzu Motors India on Friday met Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy at the State Secretariat and thanked him for entering into an MoU with them for establishment of truck and car manufacturing unit in Sri City in Chittoor District.
The Chief Minister directed them to speed up the project and start production at the earliest. He said the State Government will extend all assistance to the Company. He said that the State has investment-friendly policies and said for example he laid foundations stone for Mahindra & Mahindra tractor manufacturing unit and also inaugurated the project to produce one lakh tractors per annum. They are also coming up with cars and trucks manufacturing unit proposals.
The Isuzu Motors has a production capacity of 1,60,000 units per annum and total investment is Rs.1,500 crs and will provide employment to 2,900 people. It is slated to start production by April 2016. The State Government is providing all incentives as per the industrial and investment policy of 2010-15.
The delegation was led by T Kikuchi, President and Managing Director and consisted of S.Wakabayashi, Executive Vice President, S.Okazoe and T.Miyachi, GMs, Sandeep from Isuzu Motors India Ltd, Koike, Takahashi and Oohira from Isuzu Motors, Japan and Ito from Mitsubishi. Major Industries Minister Dr. J Geetha Reddy, Principal Secretary, Industries, Pradeep Chandra and other officials were also present. INN
