Hyderabad, July 4 : Rayalaseema Parirakshana Samithi chairman Byreddy Rajasekhara Reddy on Thursday rejected the proposal of Rayala-Telangana.
Talking to reporters after launching his 52-hour fast at Indira Park here, Byreddy said that the formation of Rayala-Telangana, by merging two districts of Rayalaseema with Telangana region, would completely destroy the identity and existence of Rayalaseema region. He slammed the leaders of all the political parties from the region for their silence over this proposal.
Byreddy said that the region remained backward although it produced several big leaders. He also criticised Chief Minsiter N Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu and YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy for “betraying” the region. He warned the Centre of dire consequences if it divides the Rayalaseema region. INN
