Telangana: Rayapati threatens to quit politics

Guntur, July 3 : A day after Vijayawada MP Lagadapati Rajagopal issuing a threat to quit politics, Guntur MP Rayapati Sambasiva Rao too announced that he would resign from his post if the Centre decides to divide Andhra Pradesh.

Talking to reporters here, Rayapati said that he was totally opposed to the division of the State and would vote against Telangana if referendum was sought. He said that he would take up the matter with the Congress High Command.

After Rajagopal’s announcement, several leaders from Andhra and Rayalaseema regions have warned the Congress High Command against taking a decision in favour of Telangana formation. INN
