Guntur, June 30 : The State Government has decided to act tough against the companies which failed to utilise the land allotted to them for different projects.
Talking to reporters after inaugurating the Palnadu Revenue Complex here, Revenue Minister Dr N Raghuveera Reddy said that a new policy was being drafted which would bring accountability on both the government and private parties on the lands being allocated to the latter. Stating that the allotment was land to private companies was erroneous, he said that the government would soon issue notices to the erring private parties. He said that the government might take back land from the companies if they fail to respond satisfactorily.
Raghuveera also informed that the Guntur District Collector has been asked to serve notices to five cement companies, who were allotted nearly 10,000 acres of land in Palnadu area, for their failure to start the project and provide employment.
The minister further informed 7,000 posts ranging from Village Assistants to Deputy Collectors in the Revenue Department would be filled soon. He said that of 18 new revenue divisions that the government has decided to create, 10 would be created in the first phase. INN
