Create the Hostel Culture to motivate towards the good Samaritans

Hyderabad, Junhe 19 : Former Secretary Social Welfare, Government of India P S Krishnan IAS (Rtd) asked, the officers of the social welfare hostels should work with social responsiblty to uplift the boys of the scheduled castes and scheduled tribes and maintain hostel culture to motivate them as good citizens. He emphasizes the situation how SCP & STPs were formed under the leadership of (Late) PM Smt. Indira Gandhi in 1980s.

Krishnan said that the women empowerment of weaker section started during Indira Gandhi’s period and the concept of hostel working in the south. Where as in Bihar and UP yet to be establish the weaker section hostels.

K Chandramouli IAS (Rtd) DG, Centre for Development Studies of APARD has emphasized the role of social welfare officers of hostels two ways; one is as teacher and parent to bring boarders as good Samaritans in the society. He also said that the dedication of human service can work to achieve the goal to built a good citizen of India.

K Gopal Rao IAS (Rtd) former Principal Secretary, Social welfare said that the social welfare hostels are not carrying good image and looking low as of the welfare hostel mates, that image should be eradicated through good work with humanity.

The two days training workshop was attended about 40 social welfare officers from 9 districts of the coastal regions. This workshop is organizing by the Centre for Social Justice and Social action under the leadership of M Madan Mohan Rao. INN
