NIMZs to generate over 13 lakh jobs: Geetha Reddy

Hyderabad, June 13 : Major Industries Minister Dr J Geetha Reddy on Thursday informed the State Legislative Assembly during Question Hour that the Central Government has given approval for setting up of National Investment and Manufacturing Zones (NIMZs) in Chittoor and Medak districts.

While one NIMZ will be set up at Pileru of Valmikipuram mandal of Chittoor district, another will be set up at Nyalkal and Jarasangam mandals of Medak district.

The estimated period of development of physical infrastructure and utilities linkages is within one year from the date of notification of NIMZ by Government of India and overall development of the zone takes five to seven years. The Chittoor NIMZs will generate 184,000 direct and 270,000 in-direct jobs. Similarly, the Medak NIMZ will provide direct employment to 315,00 person while giving indirect employment to 450,000 people. INN
