Hyderabad, June 13 : The Telugu Desam Party on Thursday accused Assembly Speaker Nadendla Manohar of adopting discriminatory attitude towards the opposition parties.
Talking to reporters at the Assembly media point here, TDP Deputy Floor leader Gali Muddukrishnamma Naidu released a list of 15 mistakes allegedly committed by the Speaker to prove his discriminatory attitude. He said that Manohar was not fit for the job.
It may be mentioned that the Speaker called for a meeting with the floor leaders after he adjourned the House for half-an-hour on Thursday. However, the TDP leaders refused to attend the meeting and later released the list of charges against the Speaker. Legislative Affairs Minister D Sreedhar Babu and Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy too tried in vain to pacify the TDP leaders.
The TDP leaders have also sent the list of allegations against the Speaker to his office.
According to sources, the TDP MLAs adopted a tough stand against the Speaker following a meeting that they had with their party president N Chandrababu Naidu on Wednesday night. Naidu was reportedly upset with the TDP MLAs for their failure to counter the attack of Congress leader against him and the party. INN
