Hyderabad, May 18 : The YSR Congress demanded relief for people of the State who are languishing in Dubai jails and are facing hardships in wake of the new labour laws that would be coming in to force soon.
“YSRCP delegation has visited Dubai and Nepal and held discussions with the concerned authorities. On the instructions of our party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy we have announced that we will pay the dues of the poor residents of Sircilla whose men are in Dubai jails,” party leader KK Mahender Reddy told reporters here on Saturday.
As there was no positive response from the Union and State governments, the party has taken a decision to provide legal support to the families who reside in Sircilla and take up the issue with a long term perspective.
Earlier, many leaders from Sircilla and Vemulawada had promised to help them but it did not come through.
YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had told our Party Honarary President YS Vijayamma that our party should take a positive stand help them in possible way and planned to pay the amount due to the Dubai government, he said. We have taken up the process in all seriousness and are pursuing the cause, he said.
“TRS leaders had suddenly came out of the slumber and paid Rs 15 lakh, to the families who have to remit it to Dubai authorities to get their men back. We welcome this move as our prime concern is the safety of the Telugu people in Dubai,” he said.
At the same time, Mahender Reddy had asked TRS not to politicise the Dubai issue but work with all earnestness.
The YSRSCP is committed for the cause and with new labour laws coming into force there would be many more persons who need help from people back home, he said. INN
