Former minister Sripathi Rajeswara Rao passes away

Hyderabad, April 28 : Former minister Sripathi Rajeswara Rao passed away here on Sunday. He was 73.

Rajeswara Rao was suffering from kidney ailment for the last few years and breathed his last at the Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences on Sunday morning. He was elected as MLA thrice and served as minister in the State Cabinet for two terms.

He was an ardent fan of N T Rama Rao even before he launched the Telugu Desam Party. He formed NTR Fans Association about 60 years ago and floated NTR Yuva Sena after NTR’s entry into politics. He has made several representations to the Centre seeking Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award, for NTR.

His funeral will take place ay Bansilalpet on Monday. INN
