Hyderabad, April 25 : Government Chief Whip Gandra Venkataramana Reddy on Thursday claimed that Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy was making Andhra Pradesh a model State in the country.
Talking to reporters in the Congress Legislature Party office here, Gandra said that several schemes launched by Kiran Kumar Reddy Government were being emulated by other government in the country. Citing an example, he said that although the Congress party did not promise Re 1 per kg rice in its manifesto, it introduced the scheme in the State. The Bharatiya Janata Party has promised a similar scheme in its manifesto for Karnataka elections.
Gandra accused TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu of lacking seriousness in the welfare of people. Describing Naidu’s padayatra as a flop show, he said that if the TDP chief was serious, then he would have participated in the debate on SC, ST Sub-Plan Bill in the Assembly instead of continuing the padayatra.
The Government Chief Whip also thanked the Chief Minister for announcing Rs 4,800 crore for 800 MW Kakatiya Thermal Power Project at Bhupalpalli and drinking water and irrigation projects at Kantapalli. INN
