Danam appeals opposition to call off bandh

Hyderabad, April 8: The State Government has appealed to the Opposition parties to withdraw tomorrow’s state-wide bandh in protest against the hike in power charges.

Minister D Nagender urged the opposition parties to call off the bandh as the government is taking all steps to solve the power crisis and see to it that the burden is not passed on to the consumers. The crisis is due to the heavy increase in demand, he said.

How far is it reasonable for TDP which has demolished the power sector to support the bandh, he said.
