Mayor visits families of blast victims

Hyderabad, February 22 : GHMC Mayor Mohammed Majid Hussain on Friday visited the family of deceased GHMC UCD Wing Superintendent Ramulu at latter’s residence at Jamia Osmania, who was killed in the Dilsukhnagar twin blast on Thursday evening.

The Mayor also announced Rs 1 lakh ex-gratia and one Junior Assistant post to the members of the deceased family. He further directed the GHMC Commissioner to settle the process at the earliest, in order to give the promised benefits to the bereaved families. He was accompanied by Deputy Mayor G Rajkumar and other officials.

Majid Hussain also visited the families of Venkateshwar Rao, Senior Assistant, Veterinary Department, at Saidabad, Aziz Ahmed at Prem Nagar of Amberpet and Mohd Rafi of Hafeez Baba Nagar and consoled the families. While on his visit to the bomb blast site last night, the Mayor had announced Rs 1 lakh ex-gratia to all the deceased families.

GHMC Commissioner MT Krishna Babu while addressing a condolence meeting arranged at the GHMC Head Office said that no religion or no belief accepts killing of innocents for achieving their goals. He has also informed that GHMC will take up all necessary steps in order to make the bereaved family comfortable.

All the employees of GHMC Head Office have assembled in front of the office and observed two minutes of silence for the peace of the soul of their former colleague Ramulu, who was killed in bomb blast. The Commissioner also informed that the employees of GHMC (the cadre of Junior Assistant to Commissioner including technical and non-technical) are contributing their half day basic salary (which is coming to around Rs. 6.22 lakh) to the bereaved family as a mark of solidarity.
