Hyderabad tense as T-activists clash with police

Hyderabad, January 28: Thousands of pro-Telangana activists took to streets on Monday following the Centre’s failure to announce its decision on Telangana State at the end of one-month deadline.

Despite obstacles created by the police to prevent entry of T-activists near Indira Park, thousands of pro-Telangana activists reach the Samara Deeksha camp organised by Telangana Political Joint Action Committee. The activists clashed with the police at several places and tried in vain to remove the barricades to reach Indira Park.

The Osmania University campus too remained tense as police prevented students from taking out a rally. The students of Nizam College too held protests near Basheerbagh.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Congress MPs started their meeting at the residence of Peddapalli MP G Vivek to decide the future course of action. The Telangana Ministers too held a meeting at the residence of Panchayat Raj Minister K Jana Reddy.

The Telangana Congress leaders including ministers, MPs and MLAs are preparing for en masse resignations.

Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao will be addressing the Samara Deeksha camp at Indira Park at 2 PM today and is likely to announce his future course of action.

Reports of violents protest are also coming from other districts in the region.
