Hyderabad, Dec 5 : The elections for different cooperative bodies across the State will be held on January 21st and 25th next year.

Addressing a press conference at J-Block Conference Hall of the State Secretariat here on Wednesday, Minister for Cooperation Kasu Venkata Krishna said that the elections for cooperative banks, marketing societies, APCO, Markfed and other cooperative bodies will be held in 22 districts in the State. Nearly 40 lakh voters will participate in the elections which will be held in two phases on January 21 and January 25.

The Minister informed that the entire process of cooperative elections would be completed by February 14. He said Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy and Chief Secretary Minnie Mathew would soon conduct a video-conference with District Collectors and concerned officials in this regard.

Venkata Krishna reminded that cooperative elections, which were not held in the State since1999, were conducted by the Congress Government in 2005.
