Hyderabad, July 18 : The Majlis Bachau Tahreek (MBT) has warned the BJP-led NDA Government at the Centre against making any moves to introduce Uniform Civil Code in the country.
Addressing the Jalsa-e-Yaum-ul-Quran at historic Mecca Masjid after Friday prayers, MBT spokesperson Majeedullah Khan Farhat said that the Centre was making indirect moves to introduce the Uniform Civil Code. He said while one group of Sangh parivar was aggressively pursuing the Uniform Civil Code, another one is trying to build public opinion in its favour. He said all such efforts would be not only be opposed, but defeated at all levels. He said any attempt to interfere in the Muslim Personal Law would results in serious consequences and the Indian Muslims will never tolerate any changes in the Shariat of Prophet Mohammed (Sallal-lahu-Alehi-o-Sallam).
Majeedullah Khan said that the Uniform Civil Code would put the national integrity and solidarity at stake. He said that the BJP might have won more than two third of Lok Sabha seats in the recent elections, but this victory should not be viewed as the weakness of Indian Muslims. He said more than 25 crore Muslims and other secular forces would strongly oppose the Uniform Civil Code.
The MBT leader strongly condemned the Israeli aggression on Palestine. He said that the causalities of innocent Palestinians due to Israel’s strike on Gaza should be criticised from all quarters. He urged the Arab nations to unite and fight against the Israel’s war against humanity. He also saluted the bravery of Palestinians who are fighting hard to defend their land and freedom. He demanded that India severe all diplomatic ties and trade relations with Israel and declare it as a Terrorist Nation.
The Jalsa-e-Yaum-ul-Quran was held under the supervision of Moulana Syed Tariq Quadri, former member of State Minorities Commission. Speaking on the occasion, Moulana Tariq Quadri enthralled upon the Muslims to practice the teachings of Prophet Mohammed (PBUH). He also appealed to the youth to understand the Holy Quran and adopt its teachings in their lives.
Syed Shah Ghulam Samdani alias Ali Quadri and others also addressed the meeting. The meeting began with the recital of Holy Quran by Saheban Khundmeri. Chanchalguda Corporator Amjedullah Khan Khaled supervised the arrangements. INN
