Hyderabad, July 16 : Lamenting the unabated attacks on party cadre and leaders, YSR Congress has said that TDP government has been running away from its poll promises two months after being voted to power and is concentrating on going after political adversaries misusing official machinery.
“The way in which there was an attempt to kidnap a lawyer using civil police in Nellore shows the vindictive nature of TDP government and its intolerance towards opposition of any kind even as the Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is undertaking tour of the districts without fulfilling any of the poll promises,” party spokesperson Vasireddy Padma told reporters here on Wednesday.
“TDP government has made a vain bid to kidnap lawyer Sudhakar Reddy who has filed a case in the High Court against the malpractices TDP has indulged in during the ZPTC and MPTC elections. This is in continuation to the numerous attacks on YSRCP leaders and cadre and the state sponsored terror tactics in which even our party MLA, who belongs to the minorities, and our party spokesperson were not spared.
The government is answerable to all the attacks unleashed ever since TDP has taken over the reins of the state. Instead of addressing larger and pressing issues, the State is focusing on physical attacks on opposition parties which is not the right spirit of democracy,” she said.
The TDP President and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been undertaking district tours even the five files he has signed immediately after assuming power had no impact in practice. The signature on the file of waiving all agriculture loans fell flat with the talk of rescheduling of loans coming into picture throwing the farming community into a pool of uncertainty.
Severe strictures and conditions were laid on increasing the pensions up to Rs 1,500 per month and the promise of supplying 20 liters of mineral water for Rs 2 has gone down the drain and has no effective implementation along with the closure of belt shops.
The promise of increasing the service age to 60 years is applicable only to 20 % of the government employees as corporations and other institutions are exempted from the relaxation. We have been contending that Chandrababu Naidu is anti-poor and anti-farmer and he is living up to his reputation. “We demand that all the poll promises should be implemented immediately,” she said.
