Centre asks Telangana, AP to identify land for Agri, Horti varsities

Hyderabad, July 16 : Union Agriculture Minister Radha Mohan Singh on Wednesday asked the Governments of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana to identify suitable land for the establishment of Agriculture and Horticulture universities respectively in their States.

In separate letters written to Chief Ministers Nara Chandrababu Naidu (AP) and K Chandrasekhar Rao (Telangana), the Union Minister reminded that Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, in his budget speech on July 10, has allocated Rs 200 crore each for the proposed universities. Therefore, he requested the Chief Ministers to identify 400-500 acres of land in their respective States to establish the universities.  INN
