Shankar Rao asks IT Dept to withdraw notices against Sonia

Hyderabad, July 11 : Former minister Dr P Shankar Rao on Friday demanded that the Income Tax Department withdraw the notices that it has served to AICC President Sonia Gandhi and other leaders in the National Herald case.

Speaking to media persons in the Assembly premises here, Shankar Rao alleged that the IT notices were politically motivated and were served at the instance of BJP Government. He also alleged that the BJP was resorting to revenge politics and therefore, it has targeted the Congress party. He asked the BJP leaders to stop witch hunting against the Congress leaders. Else, he threatened that the Congress party would launch an agitation against the BJP Government at the Centre.  INN
