Plumber falls to death from Govt hospital

Hyderabad, Nov 22 : A plumber died on the spot after falling down from the fourth floor of a government hospital where he was working.

According to Charminar police, the deceased, Kailash Mahapatra, was found dead near Government Maternity Hospital at Petlaburj on Friday morning. He is suspected to have fell down from the fourth floor while working alone on Thursday evening. Police registered a case of negligence against the hospital authorities.

Two degree students drown in Gandipet

Hyderabad, Nov 22 : Two friends drowned in Osman Sagar during a religious trip to Chilkur Balaji Temple here on Friday.

According to Moinabad police, the deceased – Naga Sampath (22) and K Rajesh (22), came to Balaji Temple along with three other friends. All of them are students of Mahboobia Degree College. They went to the backside of Gandipet after offering prayers at the temple. However, while playing, two of them accidentally drowned in Gandipet. The bodies were later retrieved and shifted to the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem, Moinabad inspector Ravi Chandra said.

Four persons commit suicide

Hyderabad, Nov 22 : In separate cases, four persons committed suicide due to different reasons.

The Rajendra Nagar police fished out the body of a 26-year-old painter from Himayat Sagar on Friday. The deceased was later identified as M Gopal. He was missing from his home in Aziz Nagar since November 18. Police suspect that he might have committed suicide after having a quarrel with his wife over some petty issue.

In another case, 18-year-old T Rakesh committed suicide by hanging at his residence in Dasrath Nagar. He took the extreme step on Thursday night although the family members noticed it today morning. According to Chatrinaka police, Rakesh, a barber, took the extreme step after having an argument on some trivial issue with his family members.

In a different case, 19-year-old Muzaffar Hussain committed suicide by hanging at his residence in Gayatri Nagar of MJ Colony after his father Mubashir Hussain refused to perform his marriage early, according to Malkajgiri police.

In the last case, Abdul Basith, 22, who attempted suicide by hanging at his residence in Lakshmiguda of Rajender Nagar, died at the Gandhi Hospital on Thursday night. He took the extreme step on November 17 allegedly due to ill-health and mental depression.

Baby dies after consuming turpentine oil

Hyderabad, Nov 22 : A 14-month baby girl died after accidentally consuming turpentine oil.

According to KPHB Police, the baby, M Rajeshwari, was playing while her parents were working at an under-construction building on Thursday evening. She accidentally consumed turpentine oil kept at the site. She was immediately rushed to the Niloufer Hospital where she succumbed after a few hours.

Centering dies after falling from second floor

Hyderabad, Nov 22 : A 40-year-old centering worker died on the spot when he fell down from the second floor of a building after getting electrocuted.

According to Chandanagar police, the deceased, B Prasad, was carrying an iron rod at an under-construction building. The iron rod accidentally touched a live electric wire and under the impact of electrocution, he fell down from the second floor and died on the spot.

Six killed in road accidents

Hyderabad, Nov 22 : Six people were killed in different road accidents in the city and its outskirts.

A 52-year-old man, G Manaiah, who got severely injured after the motorcycle he was riding, was hit by an auto-rickshaw died on Friday. He met with the accident near Amberpet on November 20 and was admitted to the Gandhi Hospital where he died. He was a resident of Hayathnagar.

In Falaknuma police limits, an unidentified man of about 60 years died on the spot after he was hit by a lorry while crossing the road. His body has been preserved at the Osmania General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem and identification.

In another case, 28-year-old Sibu Soren died of injuries which he suffered when the bike he was riding was hit by a van near Pilla No 14 of PVNR Express Way. According to Asifnagar police, Soren met with the accident on November 20 and died at a private hospital on Thursday night. He was a security guard of a star hotel and resident of Rajiv Nagar Colony of Gachibowli.

In a separate case, 24-year-old C Kondavi, succumbed to the injuries which he suffered on November 15 after being hit by a car near Vanasthalipuram. He was admitted to the Osmania General Hospital for treatment where he died on Thursday night. He was a native of Nalgonda and used to work as a Hammal at cement lorries in Injapur.

A police constable of Kushaiguda Police Station, K Venugopala Chary, died on the spot when the motorcycle he was riding was hit by a car. He met with the accident while returning home to Alwal after the duty on Thursday night. A case has been registered against the car driver for rash driving.

In the last case, 22-year-old Wajid Ali of Malkajgiri, who suffered grievous injuries on November 17 died at the Gandhi Hospital on Friday morning. He was injured when the bike he was riding while returning from Jahangir Peeran Dargarh skidded near Bahadurpura. He was into plastic business, police said.
