Hyderabad, Nov 2 : Leader of the Opposition in Legislative Council Yanamala Ramakrishnudu on Saturday demanded that the Centre convene an all-party meeting by involving national parties while treat the division of Andhra Pradesh as a national issue.
Talking to reporters here, Yanamala said that the meeting with State parties on State’s bifurcation issue would serve no purpose. The division of Andhra Pradesh was a serious issue having implications on the entire country. Therefore, all political parties at the national level should be invited for the meeting. He said that it was wrong to divide the State to fulfill the demand being raised by “an individual”.
Yanamala said that the issue of bifurcation should be dealt with more seriousness by initiating a national debate and taking consensus. Else, such divisions would encourage divisive politics in the country and spell disaster for the nation in longer run. INN
