Police foil Vijayamma’s Nalgonda tour following T-protests

Nalgonda, Oct 31 : Tension prevailed in Konijeral village of Nalgonda when pro-Telangana activists disrupted the tour of YSR Congress Honorary president YS Vijayalakshmi here on Thursday.

As soon as Vijayamma’s convoy entered the village, the activists started throwing eggs on her car while raising Jai Telangana slogans. They demanded that they she go back from the village. The situation turned tense, when the YSRCP activists raised counter slogans. Although the activists were chased away by the police, the YSRCP leader too was later taken into custody and shifted to Nelekondapalli police station.

Despite protests, Vijayamma was adamant on continuing her tour in Nalgonda district to meet the victims of recent heavy rains. Talking to reporters later, Vijayamma condemned her arrest and asked whether meeting people hit by a natural calamity was a crime.

Meanwhile, the pro-Telangana activists damaged the statues of YSR in Dondapadu, Neraducherla and Dondapadu and Kodad. INN
