Hyderabad, Oct 30 : Municipal Administration Minister M Maheedhar Reddy on Wednesday expressed confidence that the salaries of outsources employees of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation would be enhanced on par with the regular employees as per the PRC recommendations.
The Minister, along with Principal Secretary (MA&UD) Sameer Sharma and GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar, held a meeting with the recognized union, GHMEU, in his chamber on Wednesday.
The Minister stated that there should be a differences of wages in GHMC when compare to Municipalities and Municipal Corporations basing on standard of living. He further said that he held the first meeting with the GHMEU on 17th June, on 19th June the GHMC has written a letter to MA&UD Department recommending for enhance of salaries of outsourcing employees and the same was placed before the Pay Revision Commission on 3rd July by the Government. This shows the dedication of the Municipal Administration Department for hiking of salaries of outsourcing employees, the minister said.
The Minister has directed the Principal Secretary and GHMC Commissioner to further recommend the PRC to enhance the salaries keeping in view of Hazardous Work Allowance (HWA) and City Compensatory Allowance (CCA) in continuation with the earlier recommendations. The Minister further informed GHMEU that he will be fixing an appointment with the Chairman, PRC before 10th December.
Sameer Sharma said that the government has announced various affordable housing schemes in various projects the union can go through the schemes for construction of houses with the help of the schemes and also to identify the lands in various parts of the city to take up the housing scheme.
The Principal Secretary responding to the representation with regard to promotions he said that the employee must have seniority, qualification and experience and basing on that promotions will be given to the right candidate basing on the qualifications and seniority.
The union representatives said that the Commissioner has transferred some of the corrupted officers from Town Planning and posted to other sections but none of the Officers were obeyed the Commissioner orders and still are working in their existing positions responding to the plea of the union the Minister directed the union to furnish the list of the employees who were transferred so that he will verify the list and initiate action against the officials.
The Minister said that the Government is providing Rs. 2 lakhs for accidental policy and with regard to normal death he directed to up the proposals to the Council for consideration.
The GHMC Commissioner promised the union leaders that the GHMC will provide ESI, EPF facility to all the outsourcing employees by 30th November 2013. He further said that it is their responsibility to issue all legal requirements with in a specific period. He has asked the GHMEU to mobilize the person who does not have ESI and EPF facility so that they can conduct a medical camp for issuing of ESI and EPF Cards. He further said that he will issue an order to ESI for holding medical camps every month.
Somesh Kumar said that around 7,684 various categories of permanent employees are working in GHMC. As represented by the GHMEU, He also informed the GHMEU to give a list of the employees for promotion for which he will study the same and will settle the issue by the December end.
The Commissioner further said that as desired by the GHMEU with regard to purchase of new vehicles he said that after he has assumed charge on 23rd October 2013, he has already sent a first letter to the Government to give permission to purchase the new vehicles from GHMC funds. The Commissioner responding to the GHMEU issues pertaining to issue of health cards to GHMC employees which are pending in the Government and also with regard to uniform he assured them that GHMC will supply the uniform and as well as health cards by the end of December 2013.
Somesh Kumar has promised the union members that lunch rooms and toilets will be constructed for the convenience of outsourcing employees at the Parking Yards by Sankranthi. He said with regard to OSRT technology it cannot be rejected the problems which are being faced will be rectified soon. The system is being implemented to cooperate to the employees but not to harass the employees in any manner and the GHMC will make the technology foolproof, he added.
