Hyderabad, Oct 30 : As many as 59 officers passed out as Deputy Superintendents of Police from the Andhra Pradesh Police Academy here on Wednesday.
Speaking as the Chief Guest after receiving the salute of 9th batch of DSPs parade at APPA here, Governor ESL Narasimhan said that the officers should remember the oath that they taken today and keep up their promise as long as they are in service. The police powers shall be used for the society safeguard but not for selfish purpose. They should call-on their sub ordinates calling by Name but not by police numbers to develop their human relationship with their colleagues, he said.
The Governor said that those persons who will shine within their family will shine in the society and Nation. As long as they are in public service, they should up hold the constitution and be lawful. They should keep in their mind about the Gender Sensitivity also. The RTI and Media will watch your behavior, attitude and hence nothing should be hiding out and nothing should be self purpose. The society, family and Nation will be looked at police and hence they should work for those who are needy. He finally said that the AP Police is the best police he observed in his career during last four decades, he said.
Director General of Police B Prasada Rao was also attended the function as the Guest of Honour.
In the 9th batch, 58 DSPs were directly recruited through Andhra Pradesh Public Service Commission while one officer is from Pondicherry. Among them 31 are graduates, 2 are Medical Officers, 28 are Post graduates with one Ph.D. Out of 59 Officers, 21 are lady officers for the first time such a large number of women officers are passing out as DSsP in the police Academy History.
The Governor has awarded the Trophy’s and Medals to the excellence showned during their training period at AP Police Academy. The NICFS Medal has been awarded to Dr G Premi Kajal, who hails from Visakhapatnam for Excellence in Criminology. The Best in Firing Trophy was given to G Chakravarthi from Hyderabad. He did his post graduation in Engineering from Illinois Institute of Technology, USA and joined in AP police service. The DGP’s trophy and sword for the best in outdoor given to Venkataramudu of Ananthapur. Finally, two Medals and two Trophies were awarded to Smt. K.Sravani of Vizianagaram. She is a graduate from BITS Pilani, Rajasthan. Later, the Governor has unveiled the Statue of Raja Bahadur Venkata Rami Reddy in the Police Academy Premises in the presence of various police officers and trustee members.
Earlier, Pasada Rao said that the police officers should respect a poor man and treat them with empathic manner. Speak learning the behavior, attitude and kindness before they handle the case. The police officers shall allocate some time every day on the present problems and solutions. They must take care of their health also in the day to day pressures. The DGP has congratulated all the trophy and Medal winners.
APPA Director Dr M Malakondaiah gave a detailed account of Academy’s progress and achievements. Since inception of the Academy in the year 1986, has imparted professional training to various ranks of Police and other departments like Central Excise and customs, Transport and Forest Department, Bank Security guards. Till date, the Academy has trained more than 96,385 trainees.
Many senior Police Officers and family members of the police officers have attended on the occasion. INN
