Sr Journalist Mohammad Shareef passes away

Hyderabad, Oct 29: Senior journalist Mohammad Shareef died after brief illness here late on Monday night. He was 48 and is survived by wife, two sons and a daughter.

Mohammad Shareef, 48, was working with Etemaad Urdu Daily as a Senior Reporter. He served several media organisations including Citizen’s Evening, Andhra Pradesh Times, ANS news agency and Munsif Urdu Daily. He was also the Treasurer of Hyderabad Union of Working Journalists.

His Namaz-e-Janaza was performed at Masjid-e-Mohammadia near Begumpet Railway Station after Asar prayers on Tuesday while the burial took place in the graveyard of Dargah Hazarat Syed Ahmed Badepa in First Lancers.  Relatives, friends and several journalists visited his house and the graveyard to pay their tributes. Known for his simplicity, Mohammad Shareef, was very popular in the journalist fraternity and everyone described his demise as a huge loss to the fraternity in Hyderabad.
