Vidhyuth Soudha faces statehood agitation heat

Hyderabad, August 26 : Tension prevailed at Vidyuth Soudha for several hours on Monday after the employees from Telangana and Seemandhra almost clashed with each other while shouting pro and anti-Telangana slogans.

The situation turned worse when police prevented TRS MLA T Harish Rao was taken into custody by the police when he tried to enter the Vidyuth Soudha to express solidarity with the Telangana employees.

Harish Rao alleged that the police have failed to give protection to Telangana employees who were being physically assaulted in Seemandhra region. Citing an instance, he said a District-level officer was attacked in Nellore and the employees and students from Telangana region were being subjected to physical and mental harassment. He said that no employee or individual from Seemandhra region was ever attacked during Telangana agitation.

Meanwhile, the TRS activists entered into a heated argument with the police officials when they took Harish Rao and other leaders into custody. INN
