Hyderabad, August 26 : The indefinite hunger strike launched by YSR Congress Party president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy in Chanchalguda Jail here entered second day on Monday.
Jagan began his hunger fast on Sunday morning demanding status quo on Andhra Pradesh. Describing the decision as “unilateral”, he demanded that the Centre should maintain status quo if it was unable to do justice with all regions.
Jagan was examined by jail doctors on Monday morning and found his condition to be stable although he developed weakness, sources said. However, a medical bulletin is likely to be issued in the evening after another medical check-up. The jail authorities did not gave any official statement on Jagan’s hunger strike.
Meanwhile, police took some women into custody when they tried to assemble near the Chachalguda Jail building in support of Jagan’s strike. The security around the jail premises has already been enhanced. INN
