Hyderabad, August 20 : Finance Minister Anam Ramanrayana Reddy on Tuesday alleged that Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu took a U-turn on the Telangana issue in view of Samaikhyandhra agitation.
Talking to reporters at Gandhi Bhavan here, Anam said that Naidu not only supported Telangana formation, but also wrote a letter to the Centre favouring statehood for the region. He even demanded Rs 5 lakh crore from the Centre for the new capital of Andhra Pradesh. However, when the Samaikhyandra agitation intensified in Seemandhra region, he took a U-turn and started enacting political dramas in the Parliament through his party MPs. He also ridiculed Naidu’s proposed bus yatra in the Seemandhra region.
Anam claimed that the proposal to divide Andhra Pradesh was vehemently opposed by the Congress leaders from Seemandhra region and they would ensure that the State remains united. INN
